Wild-type ACE2-Fc prevents SARS-CoV-2 (de21) infection of primary air liquid interface cultures as shown by (a) immunohistochemical detection of the viral nucleocapsid protein and (b) detection of viral RNA by RT-qPCR. Extracellular SARS-CoV-2 N gene expression is presented as ∆Ct (Ct N(infected, ACE2-Fc) – Ct N(infected, untreated)). Intracellular SARS-CoV-2 N gene is expressed as ∆∆Ct ({Ct N(infected, ACE2-Fc) – Ct HPRT1(infected, ACE2-Fc)} – {Ct N(infected, untreated) – Ct HPRT1(infected, untreated)}).
