Radiologically confirmed ischemic stroke

Lack of radiological confirmation of ischemic stroke

First-time stroke

Second or subsequent stroke

Ability to provide informed consent for participation in the study and for saliva collection

Inability to provide informed consent for the study and saliva sampling

Individuals who were not suffering from autoimmune, psychiatric, and/or thromboembolic diseases, such as limb thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, or recent acute coronary syndrome

Patients who did not experience post-stroke infections
