From: Galleria mellonella as a drug discovery model to study oxidative stress

Cell viability studies of human fibroblasts after 48 h treatment with compounds using PrestoBlue Cell Viability Reagent. (A) Indole-3-propionic acid (I3PA), (B) Trolox (TX), (C) Ginsenoside RB1 (GnRB1), (D) Resveratrol (RESV), (E) Xanthohumol (XAN), (F) Alpha tocopherol (AT), (G) Alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and (H) Orotic acid (OA). Three human fibroblast cell lines from healthy individuals were used. The mean value of all data set was normalised to the PrestoBlue reduction of the vehicle (pegged at 100%). Error bars indicate SEM, and all data are presented as mean ± SEM from three independent experiments. The X-axis indicates the log10 of the various concentrations. The dotted lines represent the tolerable concentrations of the compounds in the larvae of G. mellonella. Significant difference between vehicle and treated groups were analysed using students’ t-test, p < 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.
