Generation of heat-maps shows that IBA1 + density was seen particularly within the white matter and regions directly under the impact (C). Quantitative analysis (D) shows significant increases at 72 h post-injury in the corpus callosum, fornix, septum and hypothalamus. Data was analysed using two-way MANOVA, with Tukey’s corrections for each region of interest. ****p < 0.001, *p < 0.05 compared to 72 h shams, ####p < 0.001, #p < 0.05 compared to 24 h TBI ferrets.
