Schematic of 3D natural-gas seepage simulation results: (a–d) correspond to the simulations for samples CS1, W21, CS105, and DS9, respectively. In CS1, streamlines traverse the entire rock from top to bottom along the fracture network; in W21, streamlines break in the middle of the rock and fail to form an effective seepage pathway; in CS105, streamlines are dense and diverse, axially connecting the entire seepage channel; whereas in DS9, streamlines are sparse and isolated.
