  1. Paired t-test was used between viable bacteria at MIC (1.25 mg/mL) and 2X MIC (2.5 mg/mL, maximum bactericidal concentration of the drug). An MBC/MIC ratio of 2 indicated a bactericidal effect, whereas a ratio > 4 suggested a bacteriostatic effect.
