B and C show the correlation (shading) and regression (contour, interval of 0.1, zero contour omitted) patterns of TC track density on MCA1-TC and those of SST (°C) on the −IPT time series, respectively. Stippling and cross indicate that correlations pass the 0.05 significance level.
