This diagram depicts the TEPL setup, where a sharp metallic or plasmonic tip is used to enhance the local electromagnetic field at the sample surface. A tightly focused laser excites the sample, and the near-field interaction between the tip and the material amplifies the photoluminescence signal, enabling high spatial resolution and sensitivity.
