The flow diagram shows the number of records identified, included and excluded at the different stages of the systematic review. A total of 2541 studies were retrieved from the electronic databases. After removal of duplicates and exclusion based on title and abstract screening, 271 full-text studies were assessed for eligibility. Finally, 76 trials fulfilling all inclusion criteria were included.
