In the version of the article initially published, in Fig. 4b, due to a data processing error, for the 2L MoS2 transistor shown, the forward (orange solid line) and reverse (orange hollow circles) sweeps were identical, where the reverse trace was incorrectly duplicated and appeared to overlay the solid line. Similarly, for the same device in Supplementary Fig. 18, the forward (red solid line) and reverse (red hollow circles) traces were identical, where the reverse trace was incorrect. Figure 4b and Supplementary Fig. 18 are now amended in the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
