Sequence alignment revealed that the Cys3-His1 motif closely matched that of the PHD finger of human UHRF1 (an unrelated zinc-binding protein). Manual alignment was performed between hTRPC5 (orange) and hUHRF1 (PDB 3zvz; wheat). hTRPC5 residues forming the putative zinc-binding site have been annotated.
