From: Heterogeneous dissociation process of truncated RNAs by oligomerized Vasa helicase
Oligomeric Vasa shown in green binds to Siwi-piRISC shown in blue in the upper left. Next, it undergoes the following three dissociation processes. (i) Oligomeric Vasa dissociates with truncated RNA at the 5′ end (ii) oligomeric Vasa dissociates with truncated RNA at the 3′ end, and (iii) oligomeric Vasa remains bound in a stable state. Thereafter, truncated RNAs would be transferred to Ago3, resulting in the formation of Siwi-piRISC again.
