The expression of NTCP gene was evaluated in the six non-tumour and seven tumour liver tissues using qRT-PCR. NTCP was expressed in all the analysed tumours, though at lower levels than non-tumour tissues. Results are expressed as fold change relative to NTCP expression levels in non-tumour tissues and normalised to GAPDH expression. Measurements were performed in duplicate and the results are the average of three independent experiments (n = 3). Error bars represent the mean ± SD. Unpaired Student’s t test, P = 0.028.
