a Virus titers of the mixture of BQ.1.1 and XBB at 3 dpi in the lung and nasal turbinate tissues of BA.1 or BA.2 previously infected female hACE2 hamsters (n = 4 per virus) were determined by performing a standard plaque assay with Vero E6-TMPRSS2-T2A-ACE2 cells. Vertical bars show the mean ± s.e.m. Points indicate data from individual animals. The lower limit of detection is indicated by the horizontal dashed line. b Using NGS, the relative proportions of BQ.1.1 and XBB from the nasal turbinate tissues of the infected animals were analyzed.
