Cells with the genotypes indicated were treated (D1 to D5) or not (D0) with doxycycline as described in Fig. 1. Cell density at OD600nm (a) and ROS levels normalized to the PTetO2-TLC1 strain without doxycycline (b) are plotted as mean ± SD of three independent clones. P values were calculated by two-tailed Student’s t test (* < 0.05; ** < 0.01; *** < 0.001) and only significant differences between the two strains used have been represented. c, d Protein extracts, from experiment presented in (a), analysed by Western blot using an antibody against phosphorylated forms of Hog1’s human ortholog p38 (Hog1-P), total Hog1 (Hog1-T) or against Pgk1.
