The arrow indicates the amplitude of the picosecond signal component, which increases nonlinearly with the increasing fluence and which is generated by carriers excited via two-photon absorption (2PA). b The amplitude of the picosecond component of the HHG yield change corresponding to two-photon absorption for 5th harmonics (black squares), 7th harmonics (red circles) and 9th harmonics (blue triangles). The measured data are compared to the quadratic function of fluence (dashed curve). The error bars correspond to the standard deviation of the data of each curve in (a) at time delays below zero.
