Diffraction patterns at small and wide scattering angles are collected with two separate detectors. The SAXS detector covers the centre of transmitted beam masked by the beam stop (Fig. 2). The threaded piston is used to apply a small elastic pre-stress to the sample, approximating a constant-displacement load.
