The displacement signals become smaller as the laser spot position moves away from the electrode. The inset pictures show the positions of the laser spot and the Ag electrode. The inset illustration schematically represents the displacement of crystals induced by the applied AC current. c Synchronized displacement signal for TiTe2, MoTe2, and VTe2 as a function of the frequency of the applied AC current with 100 mA at 300 K. These data are prepared from the frequency dependence of the displacement signals measured with selected frequency of applied AC current varied from 0 to 20 kHz (see Supplementary Fig. 5).
