  1. Estimates of the yearly air-sea fluxes of CH4 and CO2 from the three ecosystems. The radiative balance of the sum of the CH4 and CO2 emissions in equivalent CO2 (CO2eq) and equivalent carbon (Ceq) are estimated using the Sustained-flux Global Warming Potential (SGWP) at horizons of 20 and 100 years7. The last row is the seagrass ecosystem radiative balance subtracting the carbon sink by organic carbon burial (Corg). The Corg burial rate used is the mean value for the Red Sea seagrass meadows of Serrano et al.54.
