(d) Univariate histograms of burn severity data are shown for an example contemporary-future climate analog pairing. The area (grey) between empirical cumulative distribution functions (green and orange lines) is shown to visualize the earth mover’s distance in one dimension. A multivariate earth mover’s distance was calculated and is interpreted as exposure to fire-regime change.
