The trend in the near-surface minimum (a,b,e,f) and maximum (c,d,g,h) temperature during the historical (1950–1979; ad) and recent period (1985–2014; eh) for ERA5 (a,c,e,g) and ALLF (b,d,f,h). Stippling indicates grid points where the trend in ERA5 is statistically significant (p values < 0.05), and hatching indicates grid points where at least 70% of the ensemble members agree on the sign of the trend in the ensemble mean.
