Snapshots from a demo movie (Supplementary Movie 1) illustrating a simulation of a purely excitatory network in which the activity was evoked by a single pulse stimulation delivered to about 6,500 PCs in a 500 μm radius sphere near the CA2 region. Note that activity initially propagates in the transversal (medio-lateral) direction to subsequently spread longitudinally (antero-posterior). Scale bar, 2 mm.
