Gestures corresponding to robot degrees of freedom, along with a mode switch gesture command to switch from fine wrist and gripper control mode to driving and arms control mode shown on the left and right of the figure, respectively. The tripod position shown on the top of the figure can be viewed as a mode switch method, similar to a gear shift. The other gestures are used for directly driving the various motors of the robot.
