OFDM prevents ISI/ICI, that is the subcarrier spacing is adjusted to avoid interference, while Zak-OTFS embraces ISI/ICI. This results in poor resource utilization in OFDM but low equalization complexity while resource utilization is good in Zak-OTFS at the cost of equalization complexity.
