From: MafK positively regulates NF-κB activity by enhancing CBP-mediated p65 acetylation

MafK interacts with p65.
(a) Interaction between exogenous MafK and p65 or p50. HepG2 cells were transfected with pcDNA3-FLAG-p65 or pcDNA3-FLAG-p50 and pcDNA3-HA-MafK. Transfectants were harvested and whole-cell extracts (WCE) were immunoprecipitated with α-FLAG antibody, followed by western blotting with MafK, p65 and p50 antibodies. (b) Interaction between endogenous MafK and p65 or p50. Cells were harvested and whole-cell extracts were immunoprecipitated with p65 or p50 antibodies (c) Interaction between exogenous MafK and CBP. HepG2 cells were transfected with pcDNA3-CBP and pcDNA3-HA-MafK. Transfectants were harvested and whole cell extracts were immunoprecipitated with α-HA antibody, followed by western blotting with MafK and CBP antibodies. (d) MafK enhances binding between p65 and CBP. HepG2 cells were transfected with pcDNA3-FLAG-p65 and pcDNA3-CBP with or without pcDNA3-HA-MafK. After transfection (48 h), the cells were lysed, immunoprecipitated with anti-FLAG and immunoblotted with anti-MafK, anti-p65, or anti-CBP.
