(A) Effect of degenerin/Na+ channel blocker, amiloride, on the density ratio after 180 min. Asterisks denote values that are different from the value of mec-4 and mec-10 without treatment of amiloride at p < 0.0001 (One-way ANOVA with Bonferroni post-tests analysis). The ratio was given as the mean ± standard deviation (s.d.) of 4 independent experiments (each experiment with 50–60 young adult worms, each worm of length between 0.7 mm and 0.8 mm long).
