Antigenic sites Sa (peach), Ca (yellow), Sb (dark blue) and Cb (orange) and locations of variants (magenta) are indicated. (b) The variants S203 and T173 in HA of avian H1N1 IAVs are located in the head of HA, as part of the Sb (dark blue) and Sa (peach) antigenic sites, respectively. These variants play a role in host immune response. These positions were based on the sequences used in this study.
