Testicular and epididymal histopathology.
EAO was induced in WT (C57BL/6J) mice by immunization with testicular antigens and adjuvants. Testis (C and D) and epididymis (F) sections from the experimental group sacrificed 30 days after immunization exhibited an interstitial inflammatory cell infiltrate. Severe testicular damage was characterized by germ cell sloughing of the seminiferous tubules. Note the severe tubular atrophy showing decreased diameter of seminiferous tubules in experimental group. Testis (A and B) and epididymis (E) section from control group show normal histological features. H&E.
