All bamboo culms classified by birth year in subplot 1–3 were mapped. All Chinese fir stems in subplot 1–3 were also mapped. The 10 lines of 05 to 14 (abbreviation of 2005, 2006, ……, 2014) were the bamboo leading edge of each year. The pattern for evergreen broadleaved forest is not shown because it is very similar to the one for fir shown here.
