Distinct glucose metabolic pathway utilization in ischemic hearts.

Two-dimensional maps of 13C-labelled metabolites were reconstructed from MALDI-IMS combined with 9-aminoacridine as a matrix and shown as an overlay on optical heart section images. Images were normalized with total ion current (TIC). The right lane is the merge of 13C3-lactate and 13C2-glutamate. Experiments were repeated at least four times with reproducible results.
