  1. Brain tissue lysates were prepared from the prefrontal cortex, basal ganglia (that is, striatum+nucleus accumbens+globus pallidus), hippocampus, hypothalamus and midbrain of epidermal growth factor (EGF) rats receiving vehicle (10% dimethyl sulfoxide) or PD153035 (12 μg per day) for 12 days (n=5 rats each). Lysates were subjected to an enzyme immunoassay for phospho-ErbB1 with the cell lysate from an EGF-stimulated A431 cells as a standard. Data are expressed as mean±s.e.m.
