Hossain et al. establish a molecular diagnostic tool that can rapidly distinguish various SARS-CoV-2 variants by combining multiplex DNA detection and bioinformatics approaches. This approach can be useful in timely detection of newly emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern.
