Demonstration of a quantum error detection code using a square lattice of four superconducting qubits

The physical realization of a quantum computer requires built-in error-correcting codes that compensate the disruption of quantum information arising from noise. Here, the authors demonstrate a quantum error detection scheme for arbitrary single-qubit errors on a four superconducting qubit lattice.

In contrast to the current model based on fast recycling of the K/HDEL receptor (ERD2) between the ER and the Golgi apparatus, here authors show evidence that ERD2 is specifically retained in the Golgi apparatus and evades joining its ligands en route to the ER.

Here the authors identify a minus-end-directed kinesin required for gravity-triggered actin filament rearrangement and negative gravitropic response in the moss Physcomitrella patens, thus linking a microtubule-based cellular motor to gravitropism via actin.
