Lakerveld et al. compare the quantity and functionality of serum antibodies targeting the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in 24-month old children and adults. Findings suggest that enhanced functionality of RSV-specific antibodies in adults is due to reduced fucosylation of the Fc tail compared to antibodies in children.
