In this analysis of data from the Healthy Minds Study of over 200,000 college students in the United States, the authors found greater levels of depressive and anxiety symptoms and sexual violence and assaults experienced by gender and sexual minorities during the pandemic. These findings reinforce the disproportionate and heightened mental health and sexual violence risks for gender and sexual minority youth and the need to increase on-campus safety and crisis intervention.
