Yang, Chen et al. report crystallographic structures of GH3 beta-glucosidase LXYL-P1-2 that converts XDT into DT, a precursor for an anticancer drug taxol, and the complex of LXYL-P1-2 with XDT. This study provides insight into the catalytic mechanism for GH3 enzymes.
