Eu(Ga1−xAlx)4has been found to host a charge density wave and have rich magnetic phase diagram, including multiple skyrmion lattice phases, however, it is unclear how the former relates to the latter. Here, using soft-xray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, Arai et al find an emergent Fermi surface pocket, with nesting vectors that match the periodicity of the skyrmion lattice, suggesting a common electronic origin for Eu(Ga1−xAlx)4rich magnetic phase diagram.
