The 1,n-metal migration process provides a unique pathway for constructing complex organic structures, yet Cu-catalyzed variants remain underexplored. Here, the authors employ density functional theory to elucidate the mechanism of Cu-catalyzed formal hydro(borylmethylsilyl)ation proposed to occur via 1,4-copper migration, revealing a metal non-migration mechanism and offering insights into stereoselectivity and substituent effects.
