By engineering geometric edges in transition metal dichalcogenide nanoribbons, the authors design multifunctional tunneling heterojunctions based on metallic zigzag and semiconducting armchair edges. The tunneling in T-shaped nanoribbons and resonant tunneling in H-shaped nanoribbons exhibit remarkable robustness against variations in width, while remaining tunable through edge geometry modifications
