Tissue aging is associated with pro-fibrotic changes and stiffening of the extracellular matrix. Here the authors present FiNi-seq, a method that enriches fibrotic tissue based on its physical properties and thus captures aging-associated cell types. The study characterizes early fibrotic changes in liver tissue.
