Photonic terahertz phased array via selective excitation of nonlinear Pancharatnam-Berry elements

The authors develop an approach for photonic terahertz phased array without requiring true time delays or integrated electrodes using optically controlled nonlinear metasurface. Programmable 1D and 2D beamforming are realized across 0.8 ~ 1.4 THz.
