Ultra-rapid preparation of large-area high-crystallinity covalent organic framework membranes

The rapid preparation of highly crystalline covalent organic framework membranes is challenging. Here, the authors show a reverse-phase microemulsion interfacial polymerization to rapidly prepare large-area covalent organic framework membranes in tens of seconds applied to protein desalination.

Anhydrous interfacial polymerization of sub-1 Å sieving polyamide membrane

The design of highly permeable polyamide (PA) membrane capable of precise ionic sieving remains challenging. Here, the authors report an anhydrous interfacial polymerization on the solid-liquid interface to eliminate water-caused side reactions, leading to a PA layer with an ionic sieving accuracy of 0.5 Å.

Prevalent cytidylation and uridylation of precursor miRNAs in Arabidopsis

This study revealed prevalent cytidylation and uridylation at the 3′ ends of pre-miRNAs in Arabidopsis. Moreover, the nucleotidyl transferase proteins contributing to the pre-miRNA tailing and the diverse functions of the tailing were uncovered.
