  • Hong et al. report an adaptive memristor-based analog-to-digital converter which leverages the programmable nature of memristors to implement optimal, data-aware quantization boundaries directly in hardware, enabling a 15.1× improvement in energy efficiency and a 12.9× reduction in area compared to existing converters.

  • Standard descriptions of resonance fluorescence consider either absorption and re-emission in a single-photon picture or passive scattering. This study shows that resonance fluorescence can be described by a pure quantum state of the emitter and photon, revealing a coherent superposition that challenges the conventional view of spontaneous emission as an incoherent process.

  • The variation on molecular topology and aggregation behaviour of tethered small molecule acceptors is critical to device operating performance. Here, the authors designed two isomeric dimers via the thiophene-core engineering and realize device efficiency of 18.1% and long stability in solar cells.

  • Deterministic single-photon sources are a key building block for photonic quantum technologies. Stimulated emission now helps tailoring spontaneous emission from a ladder-type three-level system in a single epitaxial quantum dot for bright polarized sources with a high photon purity and indistinguishability.
