Quantum criticality of topological phase transitions in three-dimensional interacting electronic systems

Graphene moiré superlattices with giant quantum nonlinearity of chiral Bloch electrons

Graphene has a centrosymmetric crystal symmetry, which prohibits second-order effects in transport experiments. Yet, giant second-order nonlinear transports can emerge in graphene moiré superlattices at zero magnetic field, originating from the skew scattering of chiral Bloch electrons in the superlattice and giving rise to both longitudinal and transverse nonlinear conductivities under time-reversal symmetry.

Quantum frequency doubling in the topological insulator Bi₂Se₃

Berry curvature dipole (BCD) leads to the nonlinear Hall effect manifested as a frequency doubling in topological materials. Here, the authors report electric frequency doubling in the absence of BCD and magnetic field on a surface of Bi₂Se₃ due to skew scattering arising from inherent chirality of the topological surface states.

NUDT15 polymorphisms alter thiopurine metabolism and hematopoietic toxicity

Jun Yang and colleagues perform targeted sequencing of NUDT15 and identify loss-of-function variants associated with thiopurine intolerance. Functionally, they show that NUDT15 inactivates thiopurine metabolites, providing a mechanism to explain the association between NUDT15 loss-of-function variants and thiopurine toxicity.

Deep learning-based age estimation from chest X-rays indicates cardiovascular prognosis
