Kaposi’s Sarcoma-associated Herpesvirus encodes ORF74, a GPCR driving oncogenesis through high basal signaling. Here, authors present cryoEM structures of both inactive and active states, revealing the structural basis for its ligand promiscuity and spontaneous activation.

Chromatin remodeller Fun30^Fft3 induces nucleosome disassembly to facilitate RNA polymerase II elongation

Nucleosomes have been shown to impede the elongation of RNA polymerase II during transcription. Here, the authors provide evidence that in fission yeast chromatin remodeller Fun30^Fft3 localizes to transcribing regions to promote transcription by nucleosome disassembly in vivo.

Dot1 regulates nucleosome dynamics by its inherent histone chaperone activity in yeast

Dot1 is an evolutionarily conserved enzyme, responsible for histone H3K79 methylation in most eukaryotes. Here authors show that, in yeast, Dot1p has histone chaperone activity and regulates nucleosome dynamics via histone exchange in transcribed regions.
