In situ methods for water quality monitoring is crucial for global water use and management, though many conventional sensors have slow response time and are non-recyclable. Here, the authors report a recyclable amphiphobic dielectric material for fast monitoring of water pollutants.

The mechanisms that impact tumorigenesis during aging are incompletely understood. Here Shuldiner et al. show that in mice, aging represses KRAS-driven lung tumorigenesis and dampens the impact of inactivating many tumor suppressor genes, which may contribute to the deceleration in cancer incidence with extreme age in humans.

LKB1 drives stasis and C/EBP-mediated reprogramming to an alveolar type II fate in lung cancer

LKB1 tumour suppressor gene is frequently mutated in lung adenocarcinoma. Here the authors show that in genetically engineered mouse models of lung cancer Lkb1 restoration induces growth arrest and drives neoplastic cells toward a more differentiated and less proliferative alveolar type II cell-like state via C/EBP-mediated reprogramming.
