The anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) is involved in decision strategies. Here the authors show that individual ACC neurons can be dynamically recruited to encode outcome information and promptly update internal value representations, thereby forming a non-linear feedback-driven updating system that ensures robust and agile decision adaptation.
