Alkene hydrodifluoroalkylation is a fruitful strategy for synthesizing medicinally relevant difluoromethylated molecules. Here, the authors report a Markovnikov hydrodifluoroalkylation of aryl and aliphatic alkenes using inexpensive Mg(ClO4)2·6H2O as catalyst and difluoroenoxysilanes as the nucleophiles.
