  • Valley depolarization processes in 2D transition metal dichalcogenides have been linked to acoustic phonons, but optical verification is ambiguous, due to the nearly degenerate acoustic phonon frequencies at the zone-edge. Here, the authors determine the phonon momentum of the longitudinal acoustic (LA) phonons at the K point as responsible for the ultrafast valley depolarization in monolayer MoSe2.

  • High harmonics generation (HHG) is a promising way of investigating electronic structures and anisotropy in materials. The authors demonstrate the observation of HHG in simple structural material, hexagonal metal titanium, and experimentally clarified the anisotropy in the electronic states from the polarization dependence.

  • Sugimoto et al. investigate the potential of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM)-derived indices to assess glucose handling capacity. They show that AC_Var, a CGM-derived index, significantly correlates with the clamp-derived disposition index and outperforms conventional diabetes markers in predicting glucose handling capacity.
