The hypoxic deep inflow water in the Gulf of St. Lawrence spreads inland at 0.5 cm s-1 and the bulk of the inflow water will reach the estuary after about 4.5 years, according to the results from a Deep Tracer Release Experiment combined with analysis of Swish float data.
